judging by the looks of thing Hyperspin has got quite the following. I did forget to mention 18 months ago that I have tried gamesEX it has a couple of good features including borderline idiotproof setup. (even a child of 4 could set it up). Hyperspin will always be my first choice for 3 reasons

1. It just looks so cool

2. Covers a lot of ground

3. Support is beyond belief.

GameEX has some seriously good support but is aimed more as a media centre that plays games which is a good thing.

For those of you whom know me, know that I am an avid HyperSpin user as well as official software developer for William. However, from a programatic standpoint I have to say that I use pretty much every frontend out there. It is not for the purpose of espionage or anything like that, it's because I am a collector - and that is why I can respect all of the frontends around. I first started out by using Maximus Arcade, and I won't knock it because personally I still love it! Maximus is simple, elegant and effecient for a nice complete setup. If I want something a little more robust with extra features then I will use GameEx, but for the most part I am a media hound and that is why I stick to HyperSpin. I love the loud sounds, the brilliant graphics and the community as well.

All of these frontend developers have put so much time and heart into their applications that they all really deserve a round of applause from us. Whether it's Tom, William or any of the other folks that develop systems that we use to launc these games to develop these memories; there is no loser or winner in my book - they are all good, so keep on playing and keep on rockin'!

Hyperspin is nice and all but in my opinion once you seen one you seen them all. I prefer mala and all the custom layouts you can do and auto rotation. I also like the plugins it has like joychoose, ledblinky, ultrastik mapper, and mrotate to automatically rotate my monitor to vertical and horizontal when launching a game. You will need to build it to do this.

I haven't messed around with MAME in probably 10 years and I just got the "bug" to build a cabinet and after nessing around with a few front ends, Hyperspin seemed to be the easiest and most intuitive to me which is odd because I have read quite a few posts on various forums and the general concensus seemd to be that it was not for the person who wanted an easy soulution.

Well i started out using MA ( still have it installed on 1 system ) however after doing some research I am going to switch to Hyperspin.  To me it looks so much nicer, however I am finding that it takes a lot of additions "work" to get it to look nice.  I am now on a quest to finding the video files and box art and cart art.

Haven't tried many other frontends, but the hyperspin interface is just great. Though it does take a bit of fiddling n faffing!

Maybe when I get it all running properly I'll check some of the others out, not at all surprised it's one of the more popular FE's.
