Revo, for the purposes of troubleshooting can you create a new account and see if you still have the same issues? Send the login and pass of that account to tspeirs (dont use a password you would use anywhere else). I can assure you he can be trusted

@Tom when troubleshooting mmafan who had the same issue I tried logging in under his account and it worked without a hitch.

I tried the TELNET IP PORT (67.159.36.98 80)

I just copied the entire thing and pasted it in there and hit enter.... It just gave me some examples like -a -e -f-1 -t -host -port then beside them like a definition of the meaning then a blinking light to do the same thing again??? I tried again with the beta but same thing? i dont get it man this is nuts

If the telnet worked most likely its not a network issue. I am used to people complaining about things not working behind a corp firewall.

Tom will need to look at the audit logs on the server to see if it is actually receiving a logon request from you.

The more details we have the better, I know it sounds counter-productive but I am hoping as more users try it we get more reports, it should help narrow down the problem.

Do you have a document or something explaining more what the exact actions are of the program.

I notice a delay when starting up before i can do any actions.

Makes me wonder what it does and why.....

I do the following, start up the program, wait till i can put in any details.

Fill in the location of the Roms.

Fill in the location of where to put the emumovies.

then user name and password and press login.

The selection bars at the top always stay blank.

Guess this will be getting options when the log in is successful.

Circo do you have a link where i can maybe download the beta again? I used my search option ad found like 5 programs for the Download Service utility but it wont let me delete them and start with a fresh download of it? How can I do that?

Added two polls for tracking, if anybody can think of any polling questions that would help us better evaluate the Download Service Utility during this beta phase we would love to hear.

But so far no success on this side of the screen.

Ok, i am able now to log in.

What i did was forget my password (stupid me.....)

I clocked on forgot password when trying to log in on the forum.

Then i got an email with the new password.

Used that password to log in onto the forum.

Then changed my password to what i emailed to tspeirs.

Put the new password into the download tool.....waited a second.

And then i was surprised since it was able to log in and gave me the selection option.

all I can say is "strange...."

But happy that it works now.

Will test this with my original account too in a minute.

The delay is it attempting to log in with the credentials for the last session. It does this automatically. Then it queries the server for a list of all Systems and media types available on the server to populate the selection lists.

In your case it is failing and that is the delay you are seeing.

Here are my findings :

- it seems it does not accept the password that was entered when you create an account.

- changing password the normal way does not work either, still getting the error message.

- best option is to try to log in, but instead, click on "forgot password".

- you get an email that has a link you need to click on.

- then get a second email with your new automatic generated password.

- this new password does work on the download tool.

You can always change your password after that and it will still work.

Strangely i cannot change my password with my lifetime support account, it worked for the Revo-TEST account.

Maybe i overlooked something, but it is not there where i did it with the other TEST account.

Atleast we know now where to look.

@Stubborn : About the delay,

So it will look for a blank user with a blank password in the beginning, maybe better to prevent that.

Guess people like it also better to click on connect and then know that it is connected then doing it for them without knowing it.

I just re-cached the databases on the server, wait about 5 minutes and give it a try, maybe that will fix the problem.
