ScummVm matching

Trying to use Sync to get images and video for ScummVm but its having a hard time finding certain games.

I only have a few games but the Sync is missing a couple that I know you have logos and the like for.

What I have is a series of folders under ScummVm named with the same convention that your art is named as. This helped it locate a few it was missing on first pass. Ex. Indy and the Fate of Atlantis I have named atlantis-fm and no go.

The two I am having issues with are atlantis-fm and sq1.

Space Quest is interesting because the logo Sync comes back with 2-5 even though I don't have them but refuses to find 1 and the video Sync comes back with 1-3.

Do I need to name them something else? Not use folders? Missing a file Sync is looking for?

Also in general where can I directly download logos? I can't find them on the site for most systems or the FTP.

If you try to manually add in the individual game, it allows you to search different names to try and track something specific. Gotta be a master list somewhere

The big problem I have found is I don't know what file they are looking to match. Even if I can find something in the FTP around half the time it doesn't associate with the files I have. With normal SNES roms or the like its easy to change a name to get it to match. With the SCUMM I have no idea what the system is looking for.

This is why I talk about ready-made collections (like Gruby's or the one in PD).

With those, you can match things with the folder name of each game.

Is it possible to have EmuSync match folder names? I assume I'm not the only one but my ScummVM games are in their own folders, so EmuMovies Sync doesn't match anything as it doesn't match against folder names, only files.

I think since SCUMMVM doesn't have a proper naming convention (of single game "containers" I mean, not the contents themselves) and instead relies on specific files that need to be preset to identify each game, we have to rely on well known collections.

eXo (in PleasureDome) has a loose naming convention for the folders (in categories), but I think a more detailed one (and a way bigger collection including all languages, plus resudualvm, plus infocom etc.) is from Gruby (google Gruby's AdventurePack), with dats and everything.

Examples from both collections:

eXo:

Alternate Languages/Simon the Sorcerer 2 (CD, Spanish).zip
Working/Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders (Floppy DOS v2).zip

Gruby:

ScummVM\cruise\cruise-amiga-de.zip
ResidualVM\myst3\myst3-win-1.zip

I am not sure if removing folder info, the filenames are unique, yet it looks like it.
I believe it is only normal that if someone extracts those, uses as folder name the zip name.

Note that for Gruby collection there is also a front-end made specially for the collection that extracts the zips for use by SCUMMVM, which is potentially interesting for LaunchBox (or GameEx).

Adding on to what NLS said, Is it possible to make EmuMovies match against folders? I have everything named (as far as I'm aware) correct as far as the "real" names go, but it finds nothing when I point it to this folder (which doesn't contain any files, just folders):

Obviously it makes sense that they are folders as ScummVM uses literally just files from the original games.

Maybe a tickbox feature for a future version of EmuMovies Sync?

I'm ok with changing my files to match but I'm not sure what the scan is looking for. If you can post what files it expects I can match.

We are adding folder capability, if you want to see what it's currently looking for check the video listing in the download section.  Currently it's the hyperlist standard.

So take for example: atlantis-fm.mp4

What file is that name trying to match from? When Sync is looking at my folders what is it looking for? I've named files inside the folder to atlantis-fm and it still doesn't match. 

Most systems the file it is matching is a single rom so it's a easy fix. Scumm doesn't support zipped files so I don't know what to rename to get it to match.

Swaggers don't rename files in SCUMMVM games.

Folder matching is nice.

There is a front-end that can extract SCUMMVM games.
