Microsoft XBOX 360 Video Snaps Updated (494 New Videos)

Microsoft XBOX 360 Retail and XBLA Video snaps have been updated to release version 1.1 adding 494 new video snaps. Big thanks to @ChrisL559 for assisting with captures for this release. This brings the total video snap count to 1,244 videos for retail and 647 videos for xbla. This is everything we could actually get to run for the system and no Kinect titles are included. Video snaps are available in HD (1080p), HQ (480p), and SQ (240p). Enjoy!

Nintendo NES Video Snaps Updated (606 New Videos)

We have a pretty substantial update for the Nintendo Entertainment System video snap collection today. 606 new videos were added bringing the total to 1,885 videos.  Most of these fill in the aftermarket, pirate  & unlicensed and a few retail that have been added but were missing. Almost all captures were done using a mister FPGA unit and hardware capture. Big shout out to @ChrisL559 for helping with the capture process. All videos av available via EmuMovies Sync.

Sony PlayStation Video Snaps Updated (1,170 New Videos)

Quite a few updates for the Sony Playstation video snaps collection today.  We have 1,170 new and updated videos, all audited against the latest redump database.  This brings the total number of official video snaps for the Playstation to 2,581.  Captures by @Circo & @drewby, videos are our standard 30seconds of gameplay followed by 10 seconds of title screen. Captures were made using Mister and Retroarch. All of these new videos are also available in HD quality via Sync and FTP. Please let us know over at EmuMovies if you have any requests for videos we might have missed.

Atari 5200 Video Snaps Updated (74 New Videos)

Happy weekend everyone! Today we have 74 new video snaps for the Atari 5200 bringing the full set up to 169 videos in total.  Most of these new videos are the unlicensed and prototype titles that were not previously included.  A mister fpga was used to record all the game footage.

XBOX 360 Video Snaps Retail Released (1,144 New Videos)

I am super excited to announce that the XBOX 360 Retail Video Snaps set is finally out.  For this 1.0 release we have 1,144 new video snaps for you guys.  This was the first major pass at this, didn't include any kinect only games yet, live service games are of course excluded and there are quite a few others that I couldn't get to easily run that may also be mission, but it is rather complete.

      Update for the EmuMovies MAME video snap set today gives us 490 new video snaps bringing the set into compliance with MAME .236.  I can't thank @joe35carenough for auditing the set so we could get these done for everyone. We have a lot more of these to do as they are super clean.  Recording at 4k with our newest editing guidelines really makes me want to redo the whole set.  We have about 4 systems in development at the moment but eventually we will get a complete HD set out for everyone.  In the meantime this fill a bunch of gaps and Joe has already found more for us to record.  To get the full list of what's new in this set just scroll down past the obligatory previews for a complete list.  All recordings and edits on this set done by me @Circo so if I missed something you are waiting for please hit me up.

      3D Arcade, a return
      Back in the in the early 2003/ 2004 I found a 3D style front-end called 3D Arcade. I found it while surfing through Mameworld during this period. This is before Emumovies and the some of the better front-end existed. This is before Hyperspin, GameEX, Mgalaxy, Launchbox, so this is a long time ago. I have somewhat of a love hate relationship with this front-end because it was a nightmare to setup. The instructions described making gamelists a playlist of playlists ( yeah, it didn't make sense to me either.) But that wasn't why I downloaded it. when setup with all the arcade (which took an age because you had to download the individually and there were something like 400 plus different game models but it also, presented everything from arcades to pinballs and even decent recreations of old consoles. If you ran the exhibition location, you were greeted to a masterful location which you simply walk around the arcade where you see different rendered cabinets which when done right look fantastic. 
       
       
      So, Why am I going on about something so old. Maybe I am a little nostalgic about this old system. Well it appears that this relic is being resurrected, Thanks in part to )p( and Skurdt over on the forums. This started with )p( wanting to learn Unity for his son so he could teach him the basics (his son is 13 so he is the right age to learn this stuff). I literally popped in to see if the project was still going and a new section saying 3d Arcade in unity greeted me. So this sparked my curiosity. So far they released a limited build with some basic groundwork for possibly a better version. While Unity has its own limitations its not as bad as directors with some paid extras that enabled it to work. So what have they done so far. surprisingly quite a bit for a preview build. But my main issues with this are the UI needs to be a lot more user friendly and a decent tutorial because the last was was very confusing with phases like "a playlist of playlists"
      But the positives are a decent jukebox setup if configured right 
      The pro's if this is pulled off
      Decent maps with a possibly a chance to edit the cabinet setups 
      A way to incorporate new innovations like online play and a change to share 
      I will be looking at his project a lot more closely as a resurrected front-end from the past is coming back
