Nintendo Gamecube Updated (211 Videos)

Circo

Recommended Posts

EmuMovies member Monyet and I have been putting some time in with Nintendo GameCube this month and we have 211 new Video Snaps completed. I decided to start over as emulation has somewhat improved and relatively it's a smaller set. I also saw an opportunity to increase the quality of the whole set. Continue reading for a full file list of what video snaps were added today.

Below is a full list of the Video Snaps that were added to Nintendo Gamecube. All videos are available on the FTP and Download Service.

Sorry, I must have. Would love to have more help, but for official submissions would really need you to upload the original AVI's if you could. Refer to our submission guidelines and please let me know if you have any questions. I realize plenty are missing, we are doing the whole set this is just what we have got done so far.

Thanks, it's been fun. I am constantly blown away at how the Dolphin emulator has such high compatibility. There will be videos missing of games that don't work yet/properly but I will stay on top of advancements and fill those in once we've done all we can and Dolphin improves further.

Are you guys thinking on doing the whole set? If so what db are you using? I have a full Gamecube db done with all US+Euro exclusives as well as the playable japanese games if you need it. It's more complete than the db that was floating around the HS ftp server. A bit over 600 games I believe, so hey 1/3 of the set is done already :)

I think, I will defer to Circo's expertise on that, but the db I was using has some games missing that Circo had made videos for so I must be using that old db. It follows the redump naming scheme right? We'll be doing as much as the emulator allows, so yep, whole set.

Yeah it's redump named, but with the language and version tags stripped off which is how all official HL dbs should be, but due to no one following a strict naming schema some dbs have them and some don't...

Remember to keep track of the non working games, that will be very valuable information to Dolphin coders to make the emulator more accurate and fix existing bugs that might be preventing some of those games to work.

I'll let someone else deal with the correct naming scheme of things, and just concentrate on getting the videos made. I have been using the old database from the FTP and deleting the ones out of it that I have made and then what Circo has made too. So I've been keeping a list of games to try with future Dolphin revisions.

I have them all in a non-working directory. Though I didn't make notes. I figure I'll rename them to whatever database ends up being official. For now I am trying to stay as close to what it should be (or what I think it should be) as possible. For the record, I hate language tags.

If you, or anyone else, knows of any Jap or Eur games that should be added please let us know.

I do, but I have no clue on what games you already have on the list you are using. I can either send you my full db or a list of all euro and jap games on my db.

There will be no official gc db at least not anytime soon since it's not considered to be safe at HS.

Thanks brolly, I always figure that if anybody has a list, your the man. Now I just need to see if we can get GameCube and ps2 added over there. At this point it's kinda silly.

Ok you got me there maybe, I thought FIFA was the last title to be released for ps2

PES 2013 was released after FIFA 13 at least here in Europe, there might be a FF XI expansion released in Japan next year (Seekers of Adoulin), and that's probably it, but... I wouldn't put my money on it especially considering when everyone thought the PSX was dead some low budget titles ended up being released.

Hey Brolly, So I got your database off of HS. And the missing artwork which is great because I intend to go back and fix the wheels once we're done here. So are we going to name the videos with the strict naming scheme as you mentioned above? ie; no language tags? Who would decide this, can we just do it ourselves? I don't know what is the best path for the movies. We're using redump names but a video like SSBM has (v1.02) on the end but it would be stripped in the HL DB. That might be important info for anyone not using Hyperspin is all.

umm is my db on HS? I don't recall uploading it there since everyone else was working off another less complete db when doing the boxart and wheels, double check if yours is fully filled and has quite a few japanese games, otherwise it's not mine.

The official HL naming schema shouldn't have any extra tags like language or revisions, this has been decided quite some time ago I remember this quite well, since I had to correct the whole Neo Geo CD database due to this, but seems nobody follows that anymore nor is anyone officially overseeing HL dbs, personally I don't really care anymore, but that's how I name all my sets though and if you want to use my db this is how it should be done. GC won't be on HL anyway so there's no official db to use.

Those extra tags have no importance to videos, (v1.02) or (v1.01) of a game will look exactly the same. Now to decide what naming to use on the videos, that's totally up to Circo.

Whoa, I thought you were neck deep in the HL DB's.  It's a real bummer to think that your not involved anymore.  And BTW, you opinion counts with me, especially since I spend most of my time flying blind.

Well the db I got was from your folder on the FTP, it was definitely more complete than the one I was working off. If you have one that's even more complete then upload it and I'll use that. From now on I'll work off that one, and ditch any extra tags when uploading the videos, provided that's ok with you Circo? I wasn't sure if the extra tags had importance for somone using another frontend, where their naming schema might be exactly the same as redump.

It's that I'm not involved anymore Circo, I will still provide new dbs like Amiga or any others I will do from scratch as well as keep maintaining the Mame db. What bugs me is that a strict naming schema was defined way back and all of a sudden everyone stopped using it and started naming games after No-Intro again, this makes things messy because you don't have all dbs using the same naming and I won't touch those dbs at all even though I'm aware many of them are incomplete. I tried bringing this up several times, no one cared so I stopped caring as well, I keep doing my dbs using the naming schema that was defined back then, I simply won't be updating any dbs on HL that weren't fully done by myself since it's a truckload of work to compare them with mine since the game names are different and I don't want the burden of maintaining 2 different dbs.

Monyet, I'll upload my gamecube db then, but if you got it from my folder chances are that's the one, I don't recall uploading it though, perhaps someone asked me to and now my memory is playing tricks on me. A good reason for stripping the extra info is that many times language tags for example are only added at a later time which means you'll need to constantly be updating the db (and all it's associated artwork) to match redump or whatever set you're using and the whole idea was precisely to avoid this from happening. By only having the game name and region you are making sure the chances of a game name changing in the future are minimal.

Hey Guys, Check out the video of Strike Force Bowling for this set if you get the chance. There was a music issue so I disabled music and added some that was more appropriate. It goes with the name of the bowler.
