Daphne Dragon's Lair game play progression

Over the weekend I installed Daphne to my Hyperspin and added in Dragon's Lair I and II along with Space Ace. I used to play Dragon's Lair back when it first came out in the arcade. I noticed in the version for Hyperspin Dragon Lair I seems to jump randomly to different screens rather the start at the draw bridge of the castle then enter the castle. Any ideas why? Space Ace and Dragon's Lair II seem to follow the linear path of game play as I remember.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob - I'd like to get Space Ace and Dragon's Lair up and running, but I'm confused about the requirements. The Daphnie formums are full of minutia so if you could share how you accomplished getting up and running is really appreciate it. My assumption is that, at a minimum I'd need: Daphnie, the ROM's and some sort of video file - an ISO or MP4. Right? I have the first two and am unclear about the third. Thanks in advance for the 411.

The ROM file contains the game logic, and stuff like the score screens, but the video footage is just one large m2v file (for some games, multiple smaller m2v files*). You can normally download all the needed files directly from the Daphne application nowadays, but unfortunately not for Dragon's Lair, Space Ace and a couple more: for them the needed files will be downloaded only if you provide an original DVD of the game (and not all versions). If you can get one, then everything should be automatic, no need to configure anything.

*actually it's a bit more complicated... there are .m2v video files and .ogg audio files, plus data and configuration files for most games

Personally I use the HD versions of Digital Leisure for DL, DL Timewarp and Space Ace.

I have one of them too (DL), but it doesn't work in conjunction with Daphne, so I can't integrate it with the rest of my retrogames collection behind GameEx.

I believe that it has something to do with the resolution Daphne supports but I am just guessing.  I have Blu-ray versions in daphne that I got a few years back but they are encoded in lower resolution.  Still very clean.

Question.  I tried to DL them without the MegaSync DL manager, mostly because I don't trust it (just unfamiliar/cautious not implying to it adware/spyware).  Has anyone used the plugin to get the files? Just don't want to hose up computer.

Thanks
