Hi everyone, I hate having to beg for things but does anyone have any Philips CD-i video snaps? I think there used to be some CD-i snaps on the FTP but that was a year or so ago I think... any help is appreciated!!!!!!

Thanks so much :)

A real set was never really attempted though I did some tests a few years ago with a real console.  Last I checked the emulator was only good until a certain date and no longer worked.

MESS now supports CD-i fairly well from what I understand. The author of the CD-i emulator opened up a fair amount of code to MESS, and so with the aid of the MESS dev's a lot of progress was made on CD-i emulation...however the CD-i emulator does support some stuff that isn't in MESS...exactly what I'm not sure...but the bulk of things are in MESS. So both emulator's made great progress during this bout of code sharing.

MESS only supports CD-i mono so it's far from being a decent CD-i emulator and it's not likely there will be major progresses anytime soon. Not that CDiEmu is much better plus that emulator is pretty much dead as far as I can tell.

From what I understood, MESS played nearly all if not all CD-i games.

So even if it doesn't support all the features of all the different custom makes of CD-i...the Mono is acceptable from our point of view...from what I understood.

Yep, no DVC support means a lot of games won't work. There were some copyright issues indeed and they were waiting until patents expired (which is a very debatable subject on this particular case), but proper DVC support was never added to MESS anyway. CDiEmu does offer limited DVC support in the latest beta, still a long road to go though.
