The Great HyperList Video Snap Audit

Circo

Recommended Posts

One of the benefits of the HyperSync application for HyperSpin adding EmuMovies video support in it's next release is that our two systems can now "talk" to each other. I approached Rain, one of the HyperSync developers with an idea of making a small application that could audit all of the sets against the HyperList databases. Below is the results of these audits, and with this information we will be able to get the EmuMovies video sets 100% synced with the official HyperList ROM databases for seamless integration within HyperSpin. Note: we strive to have our sets compliant to the HyperList databases as a MINIMUM, In many cases we support many more games for those users that want them. If anyone would like to help with the missing videos please refer to our submission guide and let me know that you are interested in helping.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the HyperList databases they are No-Intro based but filtered to English Playable and No Duplicates.

ColecoVision [HyperList 1.0] - 95% Missing 7

Is this a new set already? Or the old 240p ones upscaled?

Also Barmac Channel F set should be complete apart from Baseball because I only figured how to start playing it a few days ago so you might want to double check that. And I know I uploaded the missing MUGEN video, I'll see if I still have the source files for it.

Chess and Backgammon for Ody2 aren't playable btw so you can remove them from the list.

I havent had time to flesh this post out and explain, RAIN made me a great little app that talks to the emumovies download server and hyperbase at the same time and does an audit. So I am going through and getting a baseline from 480p videos only. Once I am done with the full audit I will have to go in and see exactly what the problems are. And you are correct this is a 480p audit only and that is the new ColecoVision set that I "almost" finished a few months back. I need to quit slacking off :)

This also doesn't take into account all the vids we have that are not in the official XML's. BUT this is what hypersync will see when it goes live. This is basically my Honey Do list, unless of course anyone would like to help.

I see, that explains the missing Channel F videos, because they are named after my db so you'll need to manually rename some to match HL, but you should have the fullset except Baseball. The same with Mugen and a few others probably.

So you redid the whole Colecovision set except for 7 games? Awesome, you told me before you were working on it, but didn't know you did that many done already, but leaving only 7 videos missing you might as well have finished it lol

I got pissed off because i did those 7 but did something wrong in the mastering process and before I realized I had messed up I had deleted the captures. I will be spending some quality time these next few weeks cleaning this list up.

Man, you guys have done some truly amazing work over here. I wish that I had half of your talent & patience. So many thousands of movies, can't imagine the time it will/has taken to get all of these sets done! If I had you guys skills, I'd be rich lol. Great work Circo, and thanks for using my little tool; glad it has helped you thus far!

While it is complete, I am still working on a complete redo of the set. So far I have added or replaced over 250 videos but I still have a ways to go.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Not sure if you were still going forward with the complete redo or not, seems you will of course :)

Gamecube

And I still want to do

Atari 2600 Redo
