orsty3001
"Error: Too Many Files to Search" I'm getting this error when I try to search just my MAME roms. Do I have to split them up and then put them back together in the folder or what? What is the limit of this program? Why is there a limit?

0 Gothicplsur
Just migrated my entire Mame complete collection updated to .247 to a 2TB SSD, and I downloaded the new version of EmuSync .255 and it says the topic of this thread, "Error: Too Many Files to Search". Hey Circo, we talked a while ago, to answer your question directed at Magneto, uhmm... All of them lol Is there a work around for this yet. And What's up with Hypersync, says it can't verify my credentials, as I am Platinum? Is that program dead and buried?
0 Gothicplsur
I actually figured it out, I have my ROMs folder with my CHD folder inside of that. I unchecked "sub folders" and it ran smooth, in fact I was missing some 1400 HD files. Then I directed to the CHD folder only but checked "sub folder" and finished a few for those. Everything is fine now.
0 alicebobby
I've really worked it out; inside my ROMs folder is my CHD folder. It operated without a hitch when I unchecked "sub folders"; in reality, I was missing almost 1400 HD files. Next, I completed a few for the CHD folder alone, but I also clicked the "sub folder" box. Now everything is alright. build now gg
0 djwoody
Doesn't work for me - MAME full set - all roms & CHD's in the same folder - 'sub folders' is NOT checked. Do I need to take out the CHDs from the main ROMS folder ?

Do I need to take out the CHDs from the main ROMS folder ? I believe the max amount of files it can match in one round is around 60,000 - 70,000. You can divide your roms in half and do two scrapes, use a merged set, or honestly just grab the full set from FTP as it's a one to one match with file names, no matching necessary. We do have a new sync system in development that will not have this limit, but the mame unmerged has grown so large that it chokes the server side processing trying to do it on one pass. Two things to note, all the chd files have a corresponding rom so there is no reason to scan chd files. Number 2, while there are some videos for clones there are not many, you will mostly just find videos for parent (arcade) roms. This is because most if not all front ends will use parent assets for clones as well. So you are not going to find 100,000 video snaps for MAME more like 6,800 with optional types and Arcade parents are only 3,300 approx. In summary when dealing with a mame unmerged set 1. split the roms in half and use sync twice or 2. grab full mame set from ftp (no benefit using sync for an unmerged mame set) or 3. Use a merged mame set
