Trouble displaying Mame video snaps

So, I did spend time trying to figure this out myself, but no luck. I had a Mame arcade setup on an old computer from around 2000 with Mala. I wanted to update the PC and tried to copy the PATA drive, and it failed while I was doing that. So I’ve started from scratch with HyperSpin. I downloaded HyperSpin, Mame .278, the Mame .278 romset, and the Emumovies .278 video snap set. Everything’s working great, really enjoy the improvements, but I can’t seem to get the video snaps working. I have HyperSpin set up on the C drive, and Mame with the Mame romset set up on a flash drive (my C drive wasn’t big enough for the romset, and I didn’t think to install HyperSpin on the flash drive). I put the mp4 video snaps into the HyperSpin > media > Mame > video folder.  When I view the Mame games on the HyperSpin wheel, the window just says “videos can be downloaded at emumovies”. 
 

I did notice that some of the videos aren’t the same name as the associated rom files. Which I don’t understand. If I downloaded the latest movie video snap set, shouldn’t the names match the latest associated Mame romset?  Is there an automated way to rename them so that they all match?

More importantly though, when I scroll through the games, none of them display videos. And that includes the ones where I’ve checked to make sure that the names do match. 

Any thoughts about what I’m missing?  Appreciate any help you can offer.

Mala is an old old platform and doesn’t have the latest codecs.  I think it was last updated 15-18 years ago.  I can almost guarantee the videos will have to be reencoded to work with it.

the names are current to the latest mame.  Can you use a newer set?

just for clarity, Mala’s what I was using 20 years ago. I’m using Hyperspin right now. Would I still need new codecs in that case?  For what’s it’s worth, the sample mp4 video that comes included with Hyperspin (88 games) does work. Looks great. It just all of the emumovie mp4 video snaps that don’t.

 Is this HyperSpin 1.x or the new 2.x?  We are fully integrated with 2.x but no longer integrated with 1.x.  And 1.x is not fully compatible with our HD content, most HQ stuff should be fine.

I’m an idiot, sorry. Didn’t realize the zip file had two different collections for clone and parent. I hadn’t unzipped the parent set. Working great now. Thank you!
