Launchbox Updating Meta Data gets stuck on Searching Emumovies for Media.

HI All

 

I have recently added some games to library and updated Mame set, I have been trying for past 3 days to search for metadata and it seems to take hours just to search Emumovies for Media

 

I have tried this with only a small handful of games by selecting like 50 games and then using the Tools / Download / Update Metadata and Media for Selected Games, But it still takes a very long time. Last night it finally made it past searching and started downloading, I left it running for over 2 hours and came back and it had done around 100 files only.

 

Not sure if its me or their is a known issue with servers etc.

 

Any Help would be appreciated.

FYI, Launchbox is up to date (13.15) and I have a lifetime sub on both LB and EmuMovies

FYI, Launchbox is up to date (13.15) and I have a lifetime sub on both LB and EmuMovies

This is the first report of any issue, however over the last week we have been replacing tons of mame content on both Sync Servers as we are on the verge of pushing out a pretty massive Video Snap update.  I just rebuilt the database, can you give it another try and see if it's working normally for you?

I am trying now to update Metadata / Media for like 25 games. Its been searching Emumovies for Arcade Media for like 30 minutes and still going. 

it was never like this before but i not updated my collection in a while. So I updated Launchbox and all Emulators and forced update of game Database / Metadata.

I have a good internet connection speed and DMZ on router so cant be a factor.

 

As i am typing this it started to download files after like 35 minutes, but I am wondering why it takes so long to search Emumovies, it use to be so quick for me so I am noticing the massive difference.

I am not sure if its my Launchbox causing it. So I was posting to see if their was any known issues.

 

Not sure what the typical wait time is for updating a library of 10k games when at least 90% already has Metadata so its not replaced as that's the option in Launchbox when updating Matadata.

Normally i would be able to skip alot of the titles due to not needing any Metadata as it was already populated. But again it may be a change in Launchbox having it fetch more information from Emumovies than before.

I just ran a test here with mame and launchbox and it’s flying.  And actually when it says it’s downloading metadata that is not from emumovies but LB. 

As far as I can tell and I tested on a few systems besides mame and everything is going full speed.  

Is it possible that you are just trying to do too much at once?
