Guidelines for manuals and other content?

Hey all!  I was just wondering if there's any specific guidelines to follow when scanning manuals (dimensions, dpi settings, end file size, etc.) or musics (bitrate, file size limit, etc.) or other content.  I noticed a tutorial on video submissions but couldn't find anything in regards to other content.  Thanks!

This needs a bump. There should be standards for any archival project and if this doesn't exist it should. There's a sweet spot for size of object being scanned and dpi to be a exact 1x1 copy, no need to go over or under the 1x1 copy.
