Nintendo 3DS Video Snaps Updated (73 New Videos)

Happy Easter Everyone!  We have an update for the Nintendo 3DS today, version 1.1.  73 new video snaps havce been added bringing the full set to 583 video snaps.  Big thanks to @RLBradders26 and @drewby for helping out with the recordings.  Video Snaps are currently available via EmuMovies Sync and the EmuMovies FTPs.  Videos are in HD and HQ versions. 
Our next release has been cooking for awhile, we are working towards are first big Nintendo Switch video snaps release.  Progress is being uploaded every couple of days to the FTPs and 1.0 should be ready by the end of April.  Feel free to take a peek if you are curious.

Sony Playstation 3 Video Snaps Update

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Wanted to take a minute and share the progress on this years big project.  Today I uploaded another 250 videos and we are now over the 80% mark.  As it currently stands we have recorded and edited 1683/2048 Video Snaps and should finish in Q1 2024.  To make this set the team here used 2 PS3's to capture cards.  Currently all released videos are ready to download via EmuMovies Sync and the EmuMovies FTP in HD and HQ formats.

Microsoft Windows (PC Games) Video Snaps Updated (979 Videos)

Happy to announce that our library of video snaps for Microsoft Windows has increased by 979 new videos bringing the set to 6,844 video snaps in total.  These were all user submissions, trimmed as needed and audio levels normalized. Thanks go out to users @kim_sama98, @ray572, @sebas78, @wiggles, @rubee64, @SonofBeast, @CasperH & @Henstra1989 as well as some anonymous submissions.   Videos are available on the EmuMovies FTP and EmuMovies Sync.

Nintendo 64 Video Snaps Updated to v1.7 (33 New Videos)

Thanks to @DamnedRegistrations for a new update to our Nintendo 64 Video Snap collection.  This update contains 33 new videos bringing the complete video snap set to 413 video snaps.  High Quality video snaps can be downloaded through EmuMovies Sync or the FTP and Standard Quality is available on the Website, EmuMovies Sync and FTP.

Sony PlayStation 2 Video Snaps Updated (2,111 New Videos)

This update has been in the works for awhile, and PS2 emulation has come so far since the original videos were recorded.  This update includes 2,111 new video snaps bringing the full set to 3,581 videos.  Naming has also been updated to the latest Redump naming standard.  Videos are live on the website, EmuMovies FTP and EmuMovies Sync.  Time to rescrape guys!

      Nice job! I bet you guys had fun doing these lol. I talked about this in that other guy's topic but man, PCSX2 can be as much of a pain to deal with as N64 emulation. Last night I just finished setting up over 100 per-game configurations. So many games you have to tweak hardware hacks, clamping modes and TC offset values (offset is the best feature in GSDX) just to fix text, texture and shadow glitches. I hate resorting to ugly software mode and rarely do, always best to find workarounds to keep hardware scaling and deal with the bugs.

       

      I actually learned that for a lot of games, setting the internal resolution to "1260 x any vertical res" fixes many issues like random lines, stripes and text bugs. Not sure why but 1260 is the sweet spot and the max horizontal res to use, vertical res doesn't matter. This is how you can fix games like Tekken 4/5, Soul Calibur II and Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 if you want to keep hardware mode just to name a few. Damn plugin-based emulators, can't wait until we get a Xebra type of emu for systems like N64 and PS2.

      Damned, yea I know. I have my own top 100 PS2 exclusives and had to go through each one to get them to display properly in Hardware mode to enjoy HD.

       

      Some games sadly though like the Jak games and Ratchet & Clank need software mode no matter what, until the bugs get ironed out of the graphics plugins.

      Yeah it's a shame. I ended up deleting those because they look so terrible and muddy in software mode, and are prone to slowdowns even on my overclocked 4670k. I read that the GDSDX plugin just doesn't support some graphic effects that Naughty Dog engine used in their games.

       

      Unfortunately those bugs are probably not going to get ironed out. The guy who coded GSDX quit a year or so ago, and left them with a plugin they can't work on because the code is too complicated. So now the only thing being updated is PCSX2 itself, I think we're basically stuck with all the bugs from GSDX. Hopefully this Play! emulator comes along.
