So...You're a scumbag if you resell something?

No, you're a scumbag is you resell something in a scumbag way. Buying up NES Classic units in your area to resell at a much higher price, scumbag. Buying up items on ebay with a bot, then to resell at a higher price, scumbag. Pretending your item is something else, selling a fake, selling a repro as real, selling roms or pre-loaded boxes, or anything that is generally a scumbag move, makes you a scumbag.
