  6. Name: Wood is Back with Billy from the Game Chasers! Automatic Playlists! - 2017/02/25 - LaunchBox News Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2017-03-01 Submitter: SentaiBrad This week in LaunchBox News, Wood is at none other than Billy's house in Texas! New features for this week are automatically populating playlists and custom platform sorting. Ever wanted to create an automatic list of all of the games you've played in the last month? Or games that are rated 5 stars but aren't favorited, or vice versa? How about all games with missing metadata? All this is now possible using the auto-populating playlist features in the latest beta. You can even include them directly in with your platforms if you want, making them immediately accessible in both LaunchBox and Big Box. These features replace the previously implemented custom filters, with a much more flexible, stable, and performant solution. The possibilities are endless and you'll find that it gives you a lot more control over your collection. Also, it may not seem like a big deal, but a lot of people on the forums are very excited to finally be able to custom-sort their platforms in both LaunchBox and Big Box. Using the new Sort Title field on platforms and playlists, you can now order them however you like. For example, you may want to put all Nintendo consoles together and order them by their release date, rather than sorting them alphabetically leaving Super Nintendo out in a different spot in the list. Using the Sort Title field you can position any platform or playlist anywhere in your list. 7. Hey Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place to put this, but I've been working on my Launchbox Commodore 64 library lately and I have uncovered quite a lot of problems with the music that's scraped from the database at EmuMovies. A lot of games have mp3 tracks with a terrible noise from start to end. I checked if it could be a problem with Launchbox, but when I download the whole set from here the old way, it's obvious that the fault is in the original file. Examples on bad files: Addicta Ball (Europe).mp3 Arctic Shipwreck (USA).mp3 Chickin Chase.mp3 Chinese Juggler.mp3 Dunno what to do with it really, but I think we should try to get rid of as many as we can of these files.
  8. After recently discovering how front-ends can streamline and connect the different emulators together into one program; I started trying to set one up to use on my computer. But every step of the way has been a road block after road block. Some front-ends I started setting up become useless once I read further to find out it hasn't been updated in years. Other front-ends have hidden paywalls which make front-ends useless when trying to fully customize. Of the open-source front-ends, the setup instructions are laughably bad and no guides exist on how to properly set it up. When I finally found an already existing setup, it ends up behind a pay wall. To compound this further. I have read guides stating that rocket launcher should be used for loading games yet many many of the front-ends refuse to even acknowledge it's existence. Try typing in RetroFE and Rocketlauncher setup. You will get 2 forums at most and they are just questions about errors. And the Rocketlauncher wiki explains nothing on how to sync the two together. I have had to resort to looking through old guides to try and setup retroFE with rocketlauncher but in the end nothing worked. And to add further frustration, I recently found out that RetroFE was no longer being updated on the website so it became a waste of time. At this rate, I will either have to pay 100USD just to get something setup or forget about the existence of front-ends. Why is the bar set so high? what happened to an easy entry point for new users? It is like being thrown into the deep end when trying to set up a front end and any form of help or aid is behind a paywall.
  9. I've looked all over and cannot find any wheel art for any system on the FTP. HyperSync doesn't find very many PSP or Wii wheels so I was looking on the FTP for them but when I couldn't find any I decided to look for other wheel art just to make sure I was looking in the right spot and can't seem to find any wheel art for any system. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks, --J

  13. Hey all! Hope everyone's doing great. My first post here I believe, and my apologies if it's not in the correct section. You have an absolutely amazing service here; it's helped me out tremendously in the past, and I hope it will continue to in the future! Got a question here. How does the subscription service here work? For instance, I see the Monthly subscription is $20, plus $5 per month. That means that I pay $20 up front, plus $5 for every month that I'm subscribed. Does that include the first month (so for the first month I would pay $25)? Or, is it $20 right away, and in a month from whenever I choose to subscribe, I'd then be charged the $5, so in essence it's two months for $25? Just want to make absolutely sure how I'd be paying if/before I decide to. Thanks in advance! Keep up the wonderful work. :)
