The big stories this week was about the Nintendo Switch not having Virtual Console at launch, but digitally purchased games being tied to your Nintendo account. The Mexican Runner, an awesome Speed Runner, has finally beaten every NES game in 3 years and over 3000 hours. There is a new app on the Google Play store called MSX2Cas, which is an app that transmits special MSX and MSX2 roms as audio to an authentic computer through your phone. As well, the Unholy Night developers have reached the next phase of their journey, which is taking to Kickstarter for their cartridge run funding. This weeks Retro Remix is a Jazz Arangment with mythical esque vocals, based on Tales of Phantasia. Called, As Time Goes On, Remixed by prophetik music, it's on the Summoning Spirits Tales of OCR Album. This month in gaming is all about Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64 and it's impact at the time. This weeks Retro Remix is entitled Dracula's Madness based on Castlevania, remixed by Sir_Nuts, and this month in gaming is all about the Final Fantasy spin off that never made it here called Bahamut Lagoon, but it does have an English patch! 11. Name: Retro Style Spotlight [2-14-17] NES Classic Plays RetroArch, Castlevania Netflix Show Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2017-03-01 Submitter: SentaiBrad Today's Retro Style Spotlight has a bit of everything like usual! There are twp new English Translations available, one for 3x3 Eyes on the SNES and one for Fullmetal Alchemist for the GBA. Castlevania also has a Netflix show in production and it's shaping up to be a respectable outing for the series. As well, the NES Classic has been hacked EVEN FURTHER, now allowing for the emulator RetroArch to be installed, which means that the Game Boy, Genesis and SNES are all now playable on the NES Classic. The Retro Remix Song of the Week this week is a much more mellow symphonic arrangement. Called Afternoon in the Sacred Forest Meadow, from Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and remixed by Doc Nano, this song is very impressive and relaxing. This song feels like it could very easily be in an older Disney movie, or even some of the earlier Studio Ghibli movies as well. Check it out, in the links below. This month in gaming is all about one of my favorite games of all time, Dark Cloud 2. If you enjoyed this episode of RSS, give us a thumbs up and subscribe for more! After several decades of video inovation, the creator behind Pac Man and Namco founder Masaya Nakamura, has passed away at the age of 91. Pac Man was a cultural icon in America, before Mario or Sonic. The rest of the stories is about last weeks Vectrex tutorial, Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta and his fusion album on bandcamp, DOS DRM Code Wheels and their preservation, the Watara SuperVision called Wataroo, a lost Nintendo 64 prototype called Riqa that was meant to rival Tomb Raider. The Retro Song of the week this week is entitled The Old Mansion by the Road, from the game Uninvited, remixed by Sir_NutS, Stephen Kelly, and WillRock. This EDM, 80's synth style horror remix is amazing. This month in gaming is also about the classic Legend of Zelda for the Famicom Disk System (FDS) and Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). I also added the logo at the bottom of the border frame. So just to be clear, I don't take credit for all of the artwork presented here. You can get the original overlays that are not mine without frame borders here, https://github.com/nosh01/retroarch-overlays The original border frames came from here, http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/26608-console-overlaysbezels/ Screen Glare Examples RetroGamingOverlays.zip

Name: Retro Style Spotlight [1-17-17] Mario 64 and Portal on SNES, Metroid Rogue Dawn, Famicom Pocket Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2017-01-21 Submitter: SentaiBrad Today's episode of Retro Style Spotlight is here and it's FanTAStic. Today's top stories are all about the new Metroid Prequel Rogue Dawn. There is also the Japanese fan made Famicom Pocket that is looking very sleek. AGDQ also just finished up where they raised 2.2 million dollars, but the highlight for me and many people was the TASBot block. It was utter chaos and bedlam, but it was fantastic. 22. Name: Retro Style Spotlight [1-3-17] Project Metafalica, Racing Remakes in FH3, GamePump, Duke Nukem 3D Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2017-01-21 Submitter: SentaiBrad This edition of Retro Style Spotlight is a bit super sized compared to normal! I started to average a shorter video, but a more concise and better edited video. This week, I went long, and even did some fancier than usual editing! That's my sorry there was no Tutorial last week apology! Enjoy. This weeks top story was about the Ar Tonelico 2 re-translation project, Project Metafalica. There's also some amazing recreations in Forza Horizon 3 being done by Eric Yui. Let's not mention the really unmentionable with the Super Mario Brothers Movie... There is also a new monthly / yearly subscription service that is offering up freshly ported retro games from across time and space, going more for games that haven't been released on Steam yet. The kicker is, they're going to port them too, so they're native on PC in DRM free or Steam formats for the world to enjoy! The Retro Song of the Week this week is is from one of my favorite games of all time, Dark Cloud on the PS2. Entitled Round the Bonfire and remixed by Kate Covington, or Katethegreat19, and is a Celctic and Fold Arrangment of the Dark Cloud music, based on the Village Festival song. This month in gaming is all about the controversial and popular Duke Nukem 3D for MS-DOS! 23. Name: Retro Style Spotlight [12-27-16] Biff Boardin, Miyomoto Interview, LoZ Original Documents, Zelda 2 Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2017-01-21 Submitter: SentaiBrad In today's edition of Retro Style Spotlight, we have a very Zelda themed episode, with a dash of Amiga! Last weeks tutorial was about the new feature in LaunchBox 7 about scanning for added and removed roms. The main stories is about Biff Boardin from a developer called Surf Systems that is extremely obscure. There has also been an old interview with Miyomoto freshly translated (or re-translated, hard to tell) about the release of Link to the Past between the Japanese and North American release. Nintendo has also released original design documents from the original Legend of Zelda for Zelda's 30th Birthday and these are spectacular to see! This weeks Retro Remix Song of the Week is entitled Electro Killer 6000, based on the Vampire Killer song from Castlevania and remixed by Zircon. Enjoy those funky beats. This month in gaming is coincidentally about Zelda 2 for the Famicom Disk System and NES. We hope you enjoyed this RSS, and hope you enjoyed your Christmas. Happy New Year, and we'll see you in 2017! The Retro Remix Song of the Week for this week is based on Mega Man 9 by Brandon Strader, Hylian Lemon and Rexy. The song is amazing, so check it out in the episode and download it from the link below. This month in gaming is all about the ARPG Father Diablo and how it's an amazing game.
