Development progress on LaunchBox 7.8 is coming along well; this week we added: - Shortcut keys and controller buttons in Big Box for switching to any particular view type (platforms, playlists, genres, etc.) - The ability to automatically download videos for playlists now as well as platforms (using Tools - Download Platform/Playlist Theme Videos) - Support for custom fields in the auto-populating playlists - Made the auto-populate playlists even more flexible with more comparison types - Next, we are tackling the option to automatically create playlists for all the various arcade platform subdivisions (Data East Classics, Irem Classics, Capcom Classics, etc.); this may even be available by the time you watch this video YouTuber ETA Prime is joining us to help with the tutorial videos! New features for this week are automatically populating playlists and custom platform sorting. Ever wanted to create an automatic list of all of the games you've played in the last month? Or games that are rated 5 stars but aren't favorited, or vice versa? How about all games with missing metadata? All this is now possible using the auto-populating playlist features in the latest beta. You can even include them directly in with your platforms if you want, making them immediately accessible in both LaunchBox and Big Box. These features replace the previously implemented custom filters, with a much more flexible, stable, and performant solution. The possibilities are endless and you'll find that it gives you a lot more control over your collection. Also, it may not seem like a big deal, but a lot of people on the forums are very excited to finally be able to custom-sort their platforms in both LaunchBox and Big Box. Using the new Sort Title field on platforms and playlists, you can now order them however you like. For example, you may want to put all Nintendo consoles together and order them by their release date, rather than sorting them alphabetically leaving Super Nintendo out in a different spot in the list. Using the Sort Title field you can position any platform or playlist anywhere in your list.
