  1. Hello there! Thanks again for this utility, I've been making heavy use of it. Just one bug to report at the moment, when selecting the Philips Videopac+ I get the error message, "Search Error: System Not Found"
  2. Regarding the above post with the Amiga CD32 problem, the same thing happens with Sega MegaCD games too.
  3. Hello there! Just currently updating my artwork and videos with v0.89 and so far, so good, thank you. Then I started to let it process my Amiga CD32 games, which are cue+iso+mp3 to keep the file sizes down to a minimum, and noticed a strange thing... Each Amiga CD32 game has it's own folder, using the TOSEC naming convention, and for this example, the files are like this: - Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)[!]\ Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 01 of 10)[!].iso Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 02 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 03 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 04 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 05 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 06 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 07 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 08 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 09 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 10 of 10)[!].mp3 Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)[!].cue The DSU happily scans all the subfolders and their contents and then downloads as it should. But for this game, it only downloads the following box scans : - Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 01 of 10)[!].png Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)(Track 04 of 10)[!].png It doesn't download "Alfred Chicken (1993)(Mindscape)[!].png" It doesn't do this for all the games, just every now and again. For this example it also downloaded the back of the box scans using the same file name as above. I haven't tested the videos yet (if they exist for this platform), but I'm guessing it'll use the same search logic and download the video twice using the same file names as above? Sorry if you're already aware of this. Just though I'd point it out. :-) If it's useful, below is what it actually downloaded for the box scans. Microcosm should appear twice, but the search only found one instance of it. It looks like any game with MP3 tracks are returning the strangely named files. 4. Hello there! I think this type of service would be ideal for those new to emulation and those who are lazy! As a kickstart to what the best or most accurate emulators are, then NonMESS do a very good job of keeping up to date with the latest emulators. I would say that providing a working emulator is good, but most emulators also require a BIOS ROM image and I guess that might make hosting such a project a bit copyright infringing and attracting the wrong kind of visitors. That said, I still think it's a very good idea to provide this type of service.
  5. Hello there! I've been using this utility with no errors so far. Thank you again for this, it really is a joy to use! Whilst I've been using it, I've used the -All Artwork- option to automate that part of the process, but I've noticed that using this also downloads the game manuals and MP3s. Whilst they're a nice bonus, I wouldn't class them as artwork and I wouldn't really use them myself - and I guess it's kind of a waste of your bandwidth when I download them? Others have suggested ways around this and I wondered if you were perhaps going to include extra download options in the utility? Also, when using your utility to check for updates of previous downloaded art and videos, it would be ideal if the utility could remember your file paths for each ROM collection please.
  6. Excellent! Works like a dream, thank you. There's still a problem with the password not accepting the $ character though...
  7. I've discovered why I'm getting a 'Login Failure' message - my normal Forum password has the $ character in it. If I change my Forum password to just plain alpha characters then the utility works. I tried changing my Forum password back to containing the $ character and the utility failed to connect. The upside is that I can now connect and download, the downside is that I've found a bug! Hope that helps?
  8. Hello again! I'm using version 0.7 of this software and I'm using my correct Forum log-in details, but I'm getting a 'Login Failure'. My Firewall isn't blocking this utility. :/
  9. Hello there! I was 9 years old when I received my first system. It was the good old 48K Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It turned me into a programer and qualified nerd!
  10. Hello there! If there are any spare slots left for testing this obvious godsend piece of software, I'd be more than happy to be a tester?
  11. Hello there! GameEx is currently my front-end of choice. Sure it doesn't have the instant WOW factor of HyperSpin, yet, but that can be worked on. I like that it uses databases for each platform and that they cross-link so that if you're looking at the MAME version of 'Out Run' it also lists the ports for whatever other computer/console you have added to GameEx, and let's you play them. Marvellous! I like the smooth transitions that Maximus Arcade uses, but to be honest, I haven't really spent much time trying to configure it, so it wouldn't be fair to judge it. HyperSpin looks amazing, but it does worry me that the opening HS animation can't play properly on my P4 HT @ 3GHz, like its not powerful enough! - but again I haven't really spent much time trying to configure it, so it wouldn't be fair to judge it. As others have mentioned, I used GameEx on a PC and would possibly use HyperSpin on a cabinet, but only if GameEx couldn't be pimped to appear as 'flashy'! I even remember a time when I used AdvancedMAME and it's MNG/MP3 game previews. Ah, happy times! Slightly off-topic, though it is also a game launcher, but someone mentioned XBMC. I'm using that on a classic XBOX and the interface for that has truly evolved over time. It would be ideal if the people creating the skins for XBMC could be encouraged to create some for GameEx (hint, hint)!
  12. is probably playing on another emulated Amiga game!

  13. Hello there! I go by many names, but for the world of emulation torrenting and EmuMovies I go by the name of AnimalFat! I don't yet have an arcade cabinet, but it is a 'pending project' and has even been given the thumbs-up by my good lady! A rarity if ever there was one! I haven't created any movies for the EmuMovies collection as yet, but I'm hoping to contribute in the near future, as and when time permits. It's amazing how a collection of movies can make a dull list of emulated games come to life - even if the movie collection is larger than the game collection! Thank you and keep up the good work!
