  1. I know that the general interest here is retro based gaming and history, but I am curious to know if people here would have a favorite game based on the modern systems (I.E. PS3, XB360, Wii, or later.) I'll start for now: PS3: Disgaea 4 Xbox 360: Monday Night Combat Wii: Super Smash Bros. Brawl PC: Granado Espada And...Ready...Go! :-)
  2. If you want something rock "n" roll based that's modern, I would suggest looking into Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. Their OST's in general are excellent and despite being the same genre, they do enough to give each character theme their own unique edge and definitive notes.
  3. Tetris Attack on SNES. It may not look like much on the outside, but it's a fast paced puzzle battle game that will surely test someone's reaction and ability to improvise.
  4. Indeed it is. I've used MUGEN before and it's its own engine based on a 1v1 fighting game system. MUGEN itself does offer quite a bit of customization options, and it's not too hard to do whatever you want with it.
  5. Nice work man! You definitely did a good deal of research into each subject of the book. It will be a very good read for myself when I want to learn about video game history for a specific console or subject. Appreciate the good work!
  6. Hi there! I've dabbled in emulation before, but stopped due to a busy school schedule years ago. A coworker of mine and I decided to both get back into emulation, and build a complete arcade cabinet from the ground up.
  7. The very first video game I remember vividly playing was Tetris Attack on SNES. I still play it to this day and it stands as one of my all time favorites, even if no one around me plays it haha.
