It seems possible that a newer version of an emulator might add support for a rom (otherwise why have the rom in my collection in the first place?). In that case, a game might be playable but just have an outdated video. I am still building my system, so I have not been able to test all of these games that have this video yet. BajaResident December 14, 2010 Share December 14, 2010 I appreciate them. My HS setup is more than just a "cabinet" of playable games, but also a game encyclopedia of sorts. Even if the rom doesn't play I will have it in my wheel, and it's nice to know at a glance which won't play. Besides, just because they don't play now doesnt mean they won't some day in the future. fixit001 September 24, 2017 Share September 24, 2017 I would MUCH rather have a video with a small caption on the bottom such as --------ERROR--------ERROR------- The world changes and so does hardware those that did not work now may work perfectly tomorrow, and some that claim don't work on some systems work on others fully, and I would like to view the gameplay even if I cant play the game due to it's problems and if I like the gameplay I may go out and buy it for the original systems I own. A video displaying it's not playable has absolutely nothing to do with "hardware" or it not being playable on certain systems. I remember that system because I double checked the high and low res videos in the FTP for that. I will check the other system as soon I can get to my place. For example in PS2 these games have 'this game is not playable videos'(even though they are): Pitfall Project Snowblind Silent Hill The Room Silent Hill Shattered Memories SOCOM Tom Clancy Splinter Cell, Double Agent and Pandora True Crime Streets of LA Singstar ABBA and FInal Fantasy XI Online have 'HD error''/memory card videos. I have 53 captures left on my list then I will post the list of games I could not get working and we can progress from there. Also I removed all the game not playable videos completely from the ftp and sync servers on May 15th On singstar and final fantasy do you know of a way to emulate microphones and hard drives? Andrewmac May 30, 2020 Share May 30, 2020 Thanks for this! I just did a mass re-download using the Tools/Metadata and Media option and used the recommended option for media. After about 5 hours of downloads the PS2 media mentioned above still shows the 'not playable' video. Do you know if there's a way in Launchbox for it to 'force' download/overwrite to fix these titles? Or is that a question for the Launchbox forum? Any help much appreciated.
