  2. Super Retro Gamer #9 #SRG 9 Sunday 26th February saw another session of my favorite hobby of playing retrogames on they original systems. Well here's my usual introduction for Super Retro Gamer. The first part maybe only 2 minutes and 14 seconds long and was only disconnected because I tripped over a table. This video was actually just an introduction of me and Glen, who is one of my regular run in buddies. Who i have played many game with him on a regular plus we are uber wrestling fans as well. Did we play WWF no mercy on the N64 you damn right we did. The second video This is the first time I actually talk about Final Fight, Fatal Fury (which at first I called art of fighting, My mistake), Tekken tag tournament and revealed a little bit of history about myself and Glen and how long we have known each other for. 2 people I said I knew who I didn't reveal their identities are from my old turbo games stomping ground when it was based in Bethnal Green back in the mid 90's when independent games stores were a thing. Final Fight was a classic for the time and was one of Capcom defining walk along beat 'em ups this was before Street fighter 2 hit the scene and changed everything for Capcom. Fatal Fury was SNK's attempt to cash in on the street fighter craze using their Neo Geo hardware which was of course very solid but expensive as hell. For a console despite being expensive as hell it was also the closest to getting to the arcade because it was technically an small dual slot (if you look at the base of a Neo Geo cart, you will see why). I'm going off topic But the SNES version was good but has shown its age with the pixelation of the sprites onscreen. The SNES wasn't designed to be displayed on a LCD screen because the old TV had a surprising amount of rastering. Anyways moving on This next clip A mere 6 seconds because the wi-fi died or was it my phone. OK Take 2 Both me and Glen play and get our asses handed to us on Punch Out. This is one of them games that has aged very well considering its age. Plays very well and doesn't hold back. I start off well then I forget to actually work my stamina and avoid the hits. So over time we both lose and we get decked. So I decide to move then I notice someone playing one of my personal favorite games EVER! Conkers Bad Fur Day. While I recorded this live I was also being filmed my good friend Zee who was one Instagram Live. In the same Video, I was impersonating both Conker and Birdy within the first sequence of the game. Zee is the actually organiser and founder of the super retro gamer event. I have not written about the other recent events because my work has been a real hog recently. While I stop recording at this point because I was trying to play games including WWF no mercy (fuck I forgot how to play this its been so long since I played this game). Yesterday was also quite special because this lovely young lady actually attended. She is far nicer in person and she reviews retrogames most recently she covered the Horace series on the spectrum. She is only starting out so please be gentle guys and any sexist remarks will be flamed grilled by me personally so please play nice. the only reason I recognised her was that damned Rolodex in my head went off like I know her but where. Then it clicked Twitter. We talked, I introduced her to the gang and we welcomed her in. The usual banter between me and @friendlypoison as he still tries and FAILS to complete Terminator again (lol). Next month I will record it and I will show you perseverance because this guys doesn't give up. The Terminator on the Megadrive / Genesis on easy is exactly that easy but on the next setting forget it because it's challenging as hell but still like a abused child he keeps going back to it. anyways that's enough for the time being. If you want to see more videos for #SRG, look up on twitter for updates on event. Anyways that's enough waffling from me tonight so I will bid you adieu and good night. Also what games do you want me to play at these events. shout out in the comments below. View full article

The big stories this week was about the Nintendo Switch not having Virtual Console at launch, but digitally purchased games being tied to your Nintendo account. The Mexican Runner, an awesome Speed Runner, has finally beaten every NES game in 3 years and over 3000 hours. There is a new app on the Google Play store called MSX2Cas, which is an app that transmits special MSX and MSX2 roms as audio to an authentic computer through your phone. As well, the Unholy Night developers have reached the next phase of their journey, which is taking to Kickstarter for their cartridge run funding. This weeks Retro Remix is a Jazz Arangment with mythical esque vocals, based on Tales of Phantasia. Called, As Time Goes On, Remixed by prophetik music, it's on the Summoning Spirits Tales of OCR Album. This month in gaming is all about Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64 and it's impact at the time. This weeks Retro Remix is entitled Dracula's Madness based on Castlevania, remixed by Sir_Nuts, and this month in gaming is all about the Final Fantasy spin off that never made it here called Bahamut Lagoon, but it does have an English patch! 8. Name: Retro Style Spotlight [2-14-17] NES Classic Plays RetroArch, Castlevania Netflix Show Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2017-03-01 Submitter: SentaiBrad Today's Retro Style Spotlight has a bit of everything like usual! There are twp new English Translations available, one for 3x3 Eyes on the SNES and one for Fullmetal Alchemist for the GBA. Castlevania also has a Netflix show in production and it's shaping up to be a respectable outing for the series. As well, the NES Classic has been hacked EVEN FURTHER, now allowing for the emulator RetroArch to be installed, which means that the Game Boy, Genesis and SNES are all now playable on the NES Classic. The Retro Remix Song of the Week this week is a much more mellow symphonic arrangement. Called Afternoon in the Sacred Forest Meadow, from Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and remixed by Doc Nano, this song is very impressive and relaxing. This song feels like it could very easily be in an older Disney movie, or even some of the earlier Studio Ghibli movies as well. Check it out, in the links below. After several decades of video inovation, the creator behind Pac Man and Namco founder Masaya Nakamura, has passed away at the age of 91. Pac Man was a cultural icon in America, before Mario or Sonic. The rest of the stories is about last weeks Vectrex tutorial, Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta and his fusion album on bandcamp, DOS DRM Code Wheels and their preservation, the Watara SuperVision called Wataroo, a lost Nintendo 64 prototype called Riqa that was meant to rival Tomb Raider. The Retro Song of the week this week is entitled The Old Mansion by the Road, from the game Uninvited, remixed by Sir_NutS, Stephen Kelly, and WillRock. This EDM, 80's synth style horror remix is amazing. This month in gaming is also about the classic Legend of Zelda for the Famicom Disk System (FDS) and Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). 14. Some of these overlays are not mine. I just altered them by adding a border frame to them. The border frame is sometimes colorized by me to match the artwork. I also added the logo at the bottom of the border frame. So just to be clear, I don't take credit for all of the artwork presented here. You can get the original overlays that are not mine without frame borders here, https://github.com/nosh01/retroarch-overlays The original border frames came from here, http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/26608-console-overlaysbezels/ Screen Glare Examples RetroGamingOverlays.zip

Today's top stories are all about the new Metroid Prequel Rogue Dawn. There is also the Japanese fan made Famicom Pocket that is looking very sleek. AGDQ also just finished up where they raised 2.2 million dollars, but the highlight for me and many people was the TASBot block. It was utter chaos and bedlam, but it was fantastic. I started to average a shorter video, but a more concise and better edited video. This week, I went long, and even did some fancier than usual editing! That's my sorry there was no Tutorial last week apology! Enjoy. This weeks top story was about the Ar Tonelico 2 re-translation project, Project Metafalica. There's also some amazing recreations in Forza Horizon 3 being done by Eric Yui. Let's not mention the really unmentionable with the Super Mario Brothers Movie... There is also a new monthly / yearly subscription service that is offering up freshly ported retro games from across time and space, going more for games that haven't been released on Steam yet. The kicker is, they're going to port them too, so they're native on PC in DRM free or Steam formats for the world to enjoy! The Retro Song of the Week this week is is from one of my favorite games of all time, Dark Cloud on the PS2. Entitled Round the Bonfire and remixed by Kate Covington, or Katethegreat19, and is a Celctic and Fold Arrangment of the Dark Cloud music, based on the Village Festival song. This month in gaming is all about the controversial and popular Duke Nukem 3D for MS-DOS!
