My Bartop MAME cab

GtBFilms

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've just signed up to this site now that I've got my Bartop MAME cabinet built and up and running after a lot of head scratching and late nights. Thought people might be interested in seeing it.

There's a long construction story I can share here if it would be of use to anyone - I think I learned that you should set a budget, and expect to spend about three times that amount before it's finished!

Anyway, here's my new Bartop MAME cab.

I'd be interested in seeing what others have created, especially how to avoid that big PSU hole in the back - thought about covering it in wire mesh maybe?

I am curious where you got plans for this, if you did?  I cannot afford the space of a full cab but would like to build a bar top unit.  I really like the design of yours it is very cool!

Nice build, I was going to build a Bartop to sell on then I decided to just put the money into my full cab instead LOL

You may want to install some extra fans though as I had a old cocktail cab with the board screwed down in like yours but had trouble with the components over heating.

That looks very clean!  I miss my old MAME cab I made years back I had to sell.  My game room has a bunch of the Arcade1Ups in it now, and for the rest I just have my X-Arcade controller hooked up to a Pi 3.
